TO ALL BRETHREN OF FEDERATION OF SCHOOL LODGES

RE: FSL FESTIVAL 2024

Brethren,

I write to you with reference to the restrictions we have, by necessity, had to place on this year’s annual festival.

This year’s festival is being held in Kimbolton Castle, under the banner of Old Kimboltonians, and dining is to be held in the White Hall at the castle. The date and venue were planned and booked many years in advance (you will, I am sure, appreciate how much work and planning is put into these events by the host lodge, over a long period of time).

While the lodge room has sufficient space to hold a good number for our lodge meeting; The White Hall is restricted to 110-120 seated for dining. After long discussion, the committee took the difficult decision to limit attendance to masons only to allow FSL members to take precedence for dining.

I fully appreciate that this has caused disappointment for some of you and for this I apologise.

I have requested that the committee work closely with future host lodges to endeavour to ensure there is sufficient dining capacity at future festivals to revert to our traditional format, going forward.
