Festival 2026
On Wednesday, 8th April, 2026, we were delighted to honour W Bro Dudley Newiss as he celebrated a truly momentous occasion: his 60th year in Freemasonry.
A highly respected figure within our community, W Bro Dudley is a Vice President of the Federation of School Lodges (FSL), a former member of the General Purposes Committee, and served with distinction as the 2013 Festival Secretary. His dedication and service over the last six decades have been an inspiration to all who know him.
The celebratory evening was marked by warmth and camaraderie. While Ron Barham was unable to attend due to illness, we were honoured by the presence of several distinguished guests who travelled great distances to mark this milestone. Among them was David Poppitt, a member of three Federation Lodges, who journeyed from the Peak District near Buxton to join us. We were also pleased to welcome our senior member, who travelled all the way from Surrey to be in attendance.
The celebration concluded in traditional style with an "Old English Night," where members were joined by their ladies for a lovely dinner. The event proved to be a success not only in celebration but also in growth; we are pleased to report that the evening has already resulted in a new candidate for the Craft.
We congratulate W Bro Dudley on this magnificent anniversary and thank him for his continued commitment to our shared principles.
